SPO600 – Lab 2 -Code Building Lab

In this lab, we were tasked to try installing two free packages in order to familiarize ourselves with the installation process.

The first package I chose was Units, a unit conversion tool.
License: GPLv3
Architecture: x86_64

This installation was done by simply running the following command:

sudo yum install units

This package was then downloaded and installed instantaneously and I was able to utilize it right away without any hitches.

The second package I chose was Calcurse which is a scheduling tool for the command line.
License: BSD License
Architecture: x86_64

Like above, the installation was done with the yum package manager with the following command:

sudo yum install calcurse

Once installed, calcurse was immediately ready for use.
